Short Bio

July 26th 12Canadian soprano Alexandra Hill, recent participant of the Advanced Artist program at OperaWorks in Los Angeles, is at home performing both operatic and concert repertoire. Roles include Musetta (La Bohème), Donna Elvira (Don Giovanni),  Mrs. Herring (Albert Herring), Bianca (The Rape of Lucretia)Metalla (La vie Parisienne), Valencienne (The Merry Widow) and Sorceress (Dido and Aeneas). Alexandra has both a Bachelor and Master degree in Music from McGill University. She currently lives in Vancouver, BC, where she studies with renowned Canadian soprano Heidi Klassen.

Recent engagements include Bach’s Johannes Passion at Dunbar Heights United Church, Beethoven’s 9th Symphony with the Cowichan Consort, recitals at West Vancouver United Church and the Silk Purse, and Handel’s Messiah at Dunbar Heights United Church and West Point Grey United Church. Most recently, Alexandra sang the role of Countess in Mozart’s Le Nozze di Figaro in the summer 2014 ViVace production in Vancouver. She is a member of the Postmodern Camerata, a Vancouver based chamber music ensemble.
